Plot

In the wake of a devastating democratic movement 26 years prior, the city of Gwangju still bears the scars of a tragic massacre. Here, state troops, under orders, unleashed a storm of bullets on innocent civilians, extinguishing thousands of lives in a horrifying display of power. Now, a disparate group of individuals, each touched by the calamity, find their lives intertwining in a quest for justice. Kwak Jin-Bae (Jin Goo), a hard-edged gang member, was but a child when he lost his father in the merciless onslaught. Fueled by a burning desire for revenge and a longing to right past wrongs, he steps into the fray. Shim Mi-Jin (Han Hye-Jin), a sharpshooter from the national team, serves as the covert team's deadly marksman, her aim as steady as her resolve. Steeped in heartache, Policeman Kwon Jung-Kyuk (Im Seul-Ong), who lost his family in the massacre, finds himself in a poignant position of power, overseeing access to the house of the ex-president, the man purportedly responsible for the atrocity. This motley crew, further bolstered by a powerful CEO and the director of a private security outfit, collaboratively forges a daring plan. Their mission? To bring the person responsible for the Gwangju Democratization Movement massacre to justice. As the past and the present collide in a tense dance of vengeance and redemption, the stage is set for a confrontation that could change the course of their lives, and the history of their city, forever.
