2001 Maniacs (2005)

While journeying towards the sun-soaked delights of Florida for their Spring Break, a lively ensemble of college friends - Anderson Lee, Cory Jones, and Nelson Elliot - cross paths with the striking Joey and Kat, who are also bound for the same destination, accompanied by their vivacious gay friend, Ricky. An unexpected detour materializes, diverting the group from their intended path, and leading them down an old, forgotten road that unfurls into the quaint Southern town of Pleasant Valley. The town's charismatic Mayor Buckman, alongside the Afro-American biker Malcolm and his exotic Chinese girlfriend Leah, extend a warm, almost fervent welcome to the newcomers as honored guests. They are invited to partake in the town's vibrant annual Guts and Glory Jubilee, a celebration steeped in traditional Southern charm and hospitality. The promise of free lodging at Granny Boone's quaint hotel, unlimited meals and liquor, and an enticing assortment of games, dances, and a grand barbecue to cap off the jubilee, is too irresistible to decline. However, as the jubilant festivities commence, a macabre realization begins to seep into the minds of the college friends. The mouth-watering barbecue that is the crowning glory of the jubilee holds a chilling secret. Beneath the Southern hospitality and jovial games, lurks a haunting truth that turns their spring break detour into a nightmare. Pleasant Valley's annual celebration is not what it seems, and the college friends are about to discover who is destined to provide the meat for this feast.
