Plot

In the heart of Manhattan, nestled amidst its towering edifices, Maria José (Salma Hayek Pinault) and her Irish spouse manage a bustling bar. It's the nightmarish evening of 9/11, and their establishment is teeming with dazed locals and the city's battle-scarred police force, their collective disbelief, sorrow, and fury palpable in the smoky air. The regular hum of sports commentary on the TV screens is replaced by news broadcasts, their frames filled with the horrifying spectacle of the crumbling Twin Towers and the haunting visage of Osama Bin Laden. The bar reverberates with a menacing tension, as the patrons seek a scapegoat for the terror that has scarred their city. One incensed NYPD member brandishes a loaded firearm — a chilling symbol of their simmering rage and fear. His action spurs others to follow suit. Amidst this impending storm, an older cop attempts to rein in the escalating turmoil. Their bar, their sanctuary, is then intruded upon by an unexpected visitor - a young man, his eyes a mirror of shock and horror. Maria José, the ever-present matriarch, seizes this opportunity to regain control of her establishment in a daring and unforeseen manner, compelling everyone inside to pause and reflect on the irrevocable alteration of America's landscape in the wake of the falling Towers.
